Forms are how data gets into a template. A form schema defines the fields; a template binds its visual elements to those fields; the user fills the form, the document renders.
Form schemas
Manage them at /form-schemas. A schema is reusable — one schema can drive many templates. See Form schemas and Repeatable sections.
- Fields — text, paragraph, date, image, color, currency, phone, rating.
- Sections — group related fields under a heading.
- Repeatable sections — for lists like work experience, family members, line items.
Binding elements
In the editor, select a Text or Image element → open Bind → pick a field. Smart Elements bind individual properties using the smartProp:{key} contract.
Default data
Each template ships with a default data sample so previews look populated and the marketplace card looks complete.
Filling a form
End users hit /use/{templateId} or /fill/{formSchemaId}. They never see the editor — just a form, a preview, and a download button.
