The PixlDocs app for Make (formerly Integromat) adds document generation to visual scenarios: watch anything, render a branded document from your data, and route the finished file into Drive, email, S3 or any of Make's 1,500+ apps.
- What ran
- The app's own declarative request definition — base.jsonc, rpc.listTemplates and module.render — read from the app source, filled the way the Make UI fills it, and issued against the deployed API.
- Result
- 27 options in the template picker and a 149,593-byte PDF delivered as the binary output the module declares — byte-identical to the SDK, n8n and Zapier lanes.
What's in the app
- Render a Document (action) — template picker backed by your workspace, a JSON data field with the same clean-key contract as the API, format and theme options, and the finished file as standard Make binary data.
- Connection with live validation — your API key is checked against your workspace the moment you paste it.
Without the app: the HTTP module
- 01Start your scenario
Add whatever should produce the document — an Airtable watch, a schedule, a webhook from your own app.
- 02Add HTTP → Make a request
Set URL and Method:
textPOST https://api.pixldocs.com/v1/render - 03Add the headers
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEYandContent-Type: application/json. The key comes from Workspace Settings → API keys. - 04Send the body
Choose Raw body type, JSON content type, and map your fields in:
json{ "template_id": "your-template-id", "format": "pdf", "data": { "client_name": "Acme Ltd", "items": [{ "desc": "Design", "qty": 1 }] } } - 05Keep the file
Tick Parse response off — the response is the document itself. Feed the module's output straight into Google Drive, Email or S3 as the file.
Airtable row created → render gift card → email it to the customer.
Monthly schedule → render a usage report PDF → upload to Drive.
Webhook from your app → render a ticket → attach via SendGrid.
